Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have for sale a nice, solid, straight and rust free rolling chassis from a 1955 Jeep M38A-1. Included as part of the chassis are original Dana 44 & 25 axle assemblies with 5.38 gear ratios and open differentials, suspension, some steering linkage and good steel brake lines. The OEM wheels/tires are NOT INCLUDED so arrangements would need to be made. Also included is an original M38A-1 tub which has been media blasted and bare metal, (it is useable but requires repair primarily in the floor area), original T90/Spicer 18 transmission/transfer case assembly, T90/Spicer 20 transmission/transfer case assembly with SB Chevy transmission adapter, OEM M38A-1 driveshafts, nice early CJ-5 hood and grill.”
