Several folks shared this article published by Jalopnik. In 2013 during our drive through Michigan Brian had suggested we stop by Ron Hattner’s place, but we never did find it. Later on, we were surprised to learn that when he’s not working jeeps, he has a Wurlitzer organ he’s installing in his basement.

Ron got into Jeeps in the 60s so he’s amassed quite a knowledge of parts, publications and people not to mention his vehicles. One of those really early Wagoneers in serial number 10023 or 10024.
The other interesting thing about him is he likes to drive his ‘newer’ Jeeps (Wagoneers mostly) to the 300,000 mark before he parks them on his property. Hard to do with Michigan’s salty winters.

I have known Ron for many years as he was often a participant in the Toledo Jeep Father’s Day Car shows. Having made the trip up to his place near Sterling, Michigan twice, I can tell you his collection is an amazing assortment of Jeep vehicles and memorabilia in every possible condition. Ron is truly an interesting guy with a lot of Jeep knowledge.
OK David, Please tell us the significance of Ron working on an Wurlitzer organ besides the fact that they are pretty cool.

Glad you got to see some pics Dave. Ron was great when I visited the one time. Back then my phone didn’t have a camera. I remember him suggesting I wear/bring boots. I asked if it was muddy? ‘No just lots of parts hidden in the leaves to stub your toe on.’ Sure enough I hit a hidden brake drum that would have broken my toe without the boots.
Nice collection! I especially like the perfectly restored ’63 Sedan Delivery, and the two fire trucks.
