   Is that some sort of heater that sits on top of the cowl? Maybe propane with the exhaust stack that rises above windshield frame? Given all that, how does the hood open?

   Might be a gasoline fired heater similar to the one i had in a VW Thing….it worked really well.

   Paul converted this heater to 12 volts. According to him, “With two settings (low and high) the heater output is either 10,000 or 20,000 btu’s. Low heat requires one gallon of gasoline for eight hours of operation and high heat uses one gallon of gas every four hours of use. The perfect heater for Jeeps used during our long and cold Alaska winters.”

   After viewing the latest work on my never ending Willys rebuild my buddy Crazy Ralphie pointed out I was 85% done with only 40% left to finish before my Jeep would be ready for the road. While the Willys is looking much better than it did 20 years ago I still have lots of little unfinished items that manage to suck up more time and money than I ever thought possible. However, after lots of thought and a few wild guesses, I’m going to predict the date this poor little Willys will be back cruising the Alaska roads………

   Joe … trust me, I hear ya! I’m resigned to the reality that no work will get done this winter until I finish the rewrites of the book.
