UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000.
This MB has a GGPW tub.
“This is a 1943 WWII Willys Jeep MB project. It is currently disassembled. I have a clear Texas title for it. I intended to restore it, but I don’t have the time. Please take a look at the pictures and let me know if you want pics of anything not shown. Also, feel free to ask questions or make offers. I’m asking $3000 for everything. This is located in Hubert, NC
Engine.
I don’t know if the engine is original or not, but is is the correct L-head. I replaced the head and gasket when I first bought it, so the cylinder head is definitely not original. The engine has been stored indoors, with the carburetor covered, since being removed from the Jeep in about 2003. It ran at that time, but it was more than ten years ago. I have new engine mounts included.
Body.
There was not much of the original body left, basically just the cowl. I bought a GPW tub in good shape for it. I had it sandblasted and primed in an epoxy primer to prevent further rust. It needs a front floor and repair/replace front side panels, but it is pretty solid for an original tub. The hood and fenders are in good condition but will probably require some minor bodywork. The windshield frame is in rough condition, but may be salvageable.
Axles.
Axles have been sandblasted and primed. I put new knuckle bearings and seals in back in about 2002. I have a bunch of new parts for the axles. Wheel cylinders, brake lines, etc. I also have new lower shock mounts/spring plates and U-bolts, but no leaf springs.
Drivetrain.
I rebuilt the T84 and Dana 18 in 2004. They have also been painted the correct green. They have been sitting indoors since, but they do have light surface rust on the gears. I have a new transmission and T-case mount for them.
Frame.
The frame is in good shape overall. It had a big bumper welded to the original gussets, but the frame horns are undamaged. I have new reproduction gussets and front bumper included, but not installed. Someone had added some steel reinforcing plates on the frame rails using bolts, so there are several bolt-holes in the frame rail. The rear shock mounts were butchered so I removed them and have new reproduction ones included in the sale, but not installed. I removed all the non-original stuff that had been bolted or welded to the frame and had it sandblasted and primed. The battery tray is still present, but pitted and rust damaged. The crossmember bracket had been extended to fit a T-90, but it has been repaired.
I have a lot of random flatfender parts (D-18 cases, T-90 parts, misc seals & gaskets, etc.). All of the flatfender stuff is included if the buyer wants it. I have a google photo album where you can see the pictures, but Craigslist blocked the web link. Email for the link.”
