UPDATE: Price dropped to $1500.
“Starts, runs, drives, has new tires with less than 300 miles on them, fresh tuneup, lake ready. Has 4×4, manual transmission, and the all aluminum Jeep Tornado engine. Clear title.
I won’t ship this item nor Will I take overpayments to pay shipping company’s. If you want it shipped you make and pay all plans for pickup.”
Are you sure this isn’t the same as the one that was for sale in Colorado?
They look similar, but the one in Colorado was listed as a 1962 and was more cream looking on the body than the one above. http://www.ewillys.com/2015/04/30/1962-gladiator-motorhome-lamar-co-3000/ ++ never mind about the cream color, it looked ‘creamier’ last night when I compared them.
On further inspection, I can’t find any differences except in the year. Moreover, the one listed above has just been issued a new license, which lends credence to the idea that this is the one from Colorado.
This guy is unreal… Trying to flip it for 7X what he paid immediately
They both have the shed door hasp on the hood and a small dent on the left side front edge of the hood.
…and it has an “all aluminum” Jeep Tornado Engine. (lol) At least that’s all you can see from six feet away, aluminum.
I don’t remember seeing this camper before. I like it! It’s very unique. And it just might be one of the first chassis mounted camper designs ever made.

I meant this might be one of the first 4WD campers ever made. The first chassis mounted camper I’ve ever seen was ’57 Cadillac with a “King of the Road” camper mounted on the chassis, built on a heavy duty limousine chassis in 1960.

My 2 cents…. ugly!
My parents had a 63 Chevy pickup truck camper, childhood memories of laying in the top bunk and looking out the window watching the miles roll by.
