UPDATE: Still Available.
(04/30/2015) There is still work to be completed (wiring), the steps have been modified, and the drains holes filled.
“This is a civilian model painted to look military. Brakes, tie rod ends, seats new. 4 cylinder flat head runs great, no smoke or leaks. Everything works, but the lights and signals. Might be head light switch they come on but don’t stay on. Never used it after dark so never worked on them. Some rust under body to be expected. Tires old but hold air, off road no problem. Drives great. 3751 miles. 12 volt system. Soft top included. Must have $6900 or trade for old Harley”
Wonder why they modified the side steps. Just doesn’t look right.
$10k? I’m not a military collector (yet), but I do respect the time and resource it takes to correctly restore a rig properly. It’s hard for me to see the value this seller is asking. I’d rather see a properly restored cj2a OR a mb. It’s not correct in this state so where’s the money? The steps are weird but the paint looks good…
I’m with you, Todd. Someone spent considerable time and money on this, but now it’s neither MB or CJ2A …AND as militarized CJs go, some glaring oddities: why leave on the side bow pockets and why not mount that blackout drive correctly on the driver fender, closer to the front? Still to the right buyer this could be a nice enough parade jeep, esp. with that siren.
If I didn’t live over the pond I would be knocking on your door with a decent offer.
