“I looked at a lot of wagons before I found this, it is done right. You can tell as soon as you drive it, it works as a complete package, with a nicely matched engine, steering and axle ratios, strong brakes, nice ride & handling. I ‘ve driven it to Death Valley and up the 395, it goes 65-70 with no issues. You won’t be able to build one for lots more than I’m asking, so if you want a tastefully done wagon that isn’t mangled together, this is the one.

Body/Chassis:
Boxed frame, frame-off restoration. No rust.

Engine:
– GM Mr. Goodwrench 350 — very low miles, burns no oil, starts right up, runs right.
– Edelbrock performer intake, 750 cfm carb & aluminum valve covers with new gaskets.
– Stainless exhaust, 2.5″ dual exhaust with big truck mufflers. Sounds nice, not too loud.
– New Aluminum radiator

– Transmission: GM TH400, shifts perfectly. Floor mounted shift. I think it may be rebuilt.
– Transfer Case: NP208 (Selec-Track, shift on fly)
– Suspension: Double-shocked all around. Stock springs I think.
– Axles: Dana 44 with 3.54 – I believe they are narrowed from K5 Blazer (80’s).
– Brakes: Blazer power front disc, drum rear. Stops great with firm pedal.
– Steering: GM tilt column, Scout II Saginaw box (new). Steers straight and true, nice ratio.
– Rims: 5 New 16×7 Cragar D-Window with stainless trim rings.
– Tires: 5 new (1K miles) Hankook 215/85R16 Dynapro ATM tires
– Heat & A/C: Vintage Air unit. Was new in box 2 years ago, I installed with all new fittings. Cold A/C, no “recharge” needed.
Bumpers: these are custom made, very heavy duty. 2″ hitch front and rear. Rear has air tank (!) built in. I also have original chrome bumpers in very nice condition with mounts and grommets. I mounted the chrome on rear.
– Gas Tank: New custom built aluminum 15 gal.
– Interior: All re-upholstered, headliner with no tears or sags, carpet throughout. Under carpet is sound deadener. Seats re-sprung, they are from a T-bird, late 70’s I think. I have 3 point seatbelts, really nice kit, I just haven’t installed them.
– Stereo is a new vintage look unit with CD, aux for iPod, flip down/removable face. 4 new Pioneer 3-way speakers
Misc:
New glass — all tinted except the front, front doors a bit lighter.
Rebuilt vacuum wiper by ‘The wiper man’.
New weatherstripping – driver’s side needs to be glued on.

Like any older vehicle, it needs the odd screw tightened, or a mod here or there to make it your own. As a starting or finishing point, this is a really sweet Willys.

Hopefully it’s to your liking. Please no trade or lowball offers. I’m not desperate to sell it, and given the price I paid and work and items I’ve added, it’s a great deal.”

I am the seller. I didn’t realize it would be posted here. I put some underside shots on the ad, it is super clean and well engineered by a master machinist/hot rodder. Very stout, double shocked, safety wired, etc. He made the very heavy duty bumpers (I have stock too), the rear contains air tank. I wish I could keep it but things happen. My dream was to get a small airstream or canned ham trailer and tour CA with my son, but that won’t happen, unfortunately. There is room for improvement, I’d like a 4 speed auto, a detachable anti-sway, and for the door locks to work, but all that is possible. I’ve done a bit of work on it, putting the A/C – heater unit in was a bear. It drives well and is a real attention grabber.

Just posting in case there is a follow up, forgot to tick the box. I’ve put as much detail as I could think of but if any questions, I’m happy to answer.
