UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
“here’s your chance to own a very rare willys fire truck and they don’t come up for sale often. This willys fire engine is in almost new condition with only 3300 miles on it. This truck was bought new and was the only fire engine the town had until it was replaced in 1972 then it sat in the fire hall un till march of 2015 when I bought it π Since I have brought it home I gave her a new 6 volt battery and a bit of a tune up. The water tank in the back leaked so I removed it and repaired it and in the process I damaged some of the pipe fittings to the pump so there is a few new 1″ fittings that don’t take away from its quality and curb appeal.
What also makes this fire truck stand out is it was not built in the USA it was built by the Sterling machine and manufacturing co. right here in Canada if your a Willys jeep kinda guy you may have heard of them they also made trailers and pto type accessories. Im happy to assist in shipping anyway I can.
This little unit runs drives shifts and stops if you have any questions I would rather answer them on the phone so feel free to call me any time between 7 am and 9 pm 7 days a week but please keep in mind the time change as im in Calgary Alberta Canada.”
That’s awesome! Just when you think all the finds are gone, bam! Good for you Glen, what a treasure!
I agree, thats a real beauty. There’s a department here in Ohio that’s still running two 3b fire engines.
It’s a museum piece! Great find!
That is a great find! The Hall of Flame Museum here in Phoenix has a Fire Jeep with a Howe setup and it is restored now. Neat units for sure!
What is on the front bumper, is that a fixed nozzle or some sort of hose protector to keep hose away from jeep.
With over 220 forest fires right now in BC, and a hot summer ahead…this thing could earn its keep in one season!
Mark,
I’m guessing the bumper-mounted Rhino horn is a traffic safety cone rack.
Love the Jeep Glenn. Hope it finds the right home.
22 mins before the end of sale it had not made the reserve. Probably did not sell.
No worries Ed sooner or later it will sell
