(Description from 08/23/2016) 1946 Willys Jeep CJ2A with too may extras to mention but I’ll give it a try. Totally ready for your most severe rock crawling expedition. Engine V6 225 with Isky cam, adjustable oil pressure, oversize pistons (.040 over), Holley Avenger Carburator Dyno-tuned. On board air for ARB’s and tire inflation. Transmission 4 speed T18 with 6.28 low gear. Transfer Case D300 from 1981 IH scout (texas bolt pattern) 4:1 gear conversion.
Front and rear end 4.10 gears with working ARB lockers. Spring over (Wrangler straight spring with extra leaves). Brakes vacuum assist with disks all around – Front later CJ disk from DANA 30 – Rear GM metric with working emergency. Steering power with Ram assist (PSC modified) Front end high pinion Dana 30 with steering linkage on top of axle. Rear axle AMC 20 strut reinforced with anti spring wrap structure. Walker Evans bead lock wheels (DOT certified). Axles are moly with U-joint (less roller bearings) and Warn locking hubs. Rear are moly full floating axles. Rear stainless steel sliding drawer was specially fabricated to fit.
Full exterior roll cage helps support frame with connections front and back.York air compressor for on board air. Switchable inside. Warn winch with poly rope with inside operation. Best part is the Maple/walnut “woody” top custom manufactured with truck bed liner covering ply top. Top is removable. Also convertible top and bikini top included. This vehicle has completed ever trail top trails in Moab, California, and Colorado.
Suggest buying for parts or collecting and driving a real unique vehicle that will get lots of comments both on the trail and off. Parts alone are worth more than the asking price. Jeep’s body needs work. Has been over rough terrain and shows cracks from where body filler is lifting. Also some rust on windshield. But the worst damage is where the plastic hood scoop has cracked from metal hood due to thermal expansion. Buyer should have mechanical capabilities to maintain”

This is still for sale? HOLY CROW, Has to be a runner up to the wagon in AZ with the NJ plates. If I were JIMMY the Greek, I’d be giving odds & taking bets. “A sure winner for the office”.
Could be the same owner, tired of towing it around the country behind that RV. Although it seems like it would have a tow bar if that were the case. I DO like this one… but still seems a bit pricey.

Here we are 2 years later from the original post and still for sale, I find this so amazing. What does this say about the market for vintage Willys vehicles? I think this proves out my long standing opinion, that the market is very limited in today’s economy.

I probably should have made it more clear that the new eBay ad has new text and the jeep is in a location other than Arizona or Colorado (I thought the older text described the jeep more clearly). Now, the jeep is listed in California.
My guess is that the seller finally sold it and now the new buyer is trying to flip it (the buy-it-now price is $14k, $6k higher than the seller was asking for six months ago). That’s just a guess though.

Judging by the ARBs front and back, Wrangler SOAs, exoskeleton including armor over the steering pitman arm and a whole bunch of other details, I would guess that the jeep was built well for serious rock crawling. Judging by the fact that it was originally built in Colorado, the price was cut in half, and it has already changed hands once, I would guess that it is worn out or several things are broken. One of the pics on Craigs list makes me think that the frame may have been broken behind the passenger front spring mount. The summation of the parts and the overall build quality may make it worth the price, but you would be hard pressed to get financing and even then, lots of things will break in the future.
