   I looked at buying this Jeep and was very serious about the purchase – until I dug a little farther into the details.

   As it sits right now, everything about what I know makes it a cool CJ6. With that being said, there are a few things I found out.

   It’s not a true frame off restoration. Taking it off the frame, doing some work, and putting it back off does not make it a frame off restoration. I asked the fellow who did the work to tell me about what he did. Essentially, he pulled off the body, looked for problem areas, corrected them to working order, painted the body and put it back together.

   The frame was not sand blasted, the body was not taken down to bare metal, primered after serious body work, and repainted. The diamond plating in the back is there to cover rust spots that were cut out and patched in with tacked on sheet metal.

   It was sanded down to remove oxidation, possibly primered over, and repainted –3 OR 4 YEARS AGO after mechanical work was done.

   Since then, it has been driven around (owned if you will) by different people, before being offered for sale as a freshly fully restored from the frame up Jeep CJ6.

   Nice things were done to make this a cool jeep, but it definitely is not what one is made to think by the ad. The devil is always in the details.

   Also does not have a heater.
