We have owned this Jeep since 1989 and the vehicle has been kept indoors.
Have lots of history and documents. Was completely restored and is in excellent condition. When restored this GPW was torn down to every last bolt and nothing spared
There are so many details unique to a script GPW that it is difficult to list them all. Any questions you have we will try our best to answer. Too many original parts with “F” script to list individually, call for details and more detailed pictures.
Here are a few details
– The GPW has a very early and rare speed odometer with rust red numbers. It originally showed 34000 miles but was rebuilt and set to zero at time of rebuild. Currently at 641 miles
– Rims are 2-piece split-type “combat” rims.
– Air cleaner & horn are very early AC type — both have script “F” with correct AC decal.
– Correct decals in engine compartment & bolts in on the engine and parts are “F’ marked.
– Starter & generator professionally rebuilt.
– Radiator professionally tested & re-soldered. Marked script “F” & GPW .
– Fuel filter top has cast script “F” with new steel fuel lines, correct hoses & clamps in engine compartment.
– Seat covers, cushions, straps, buckles are from Beachwood canvas.
– Top is a repo form army Jeep parts inc. and professionally re-sewn to fit properly. The top bow brackets are stamped Script “F”. The Top bows are Repo.
-Windshield is an excellent repo and was equipped with new rubber seals and safety glass at time of rebuild.
-The wiring is correct (cloth covered) Repo except for the wire to the trailer plug that is plastic coated
-Grill is “F” stamped and has correct horse-hair air seal. Black out lights marker lamps are “F” marked as well as the radiator cap.
Includes a display case containing tools and extra parts that were shipped with each GPW form the factory and repos of both manuals (TM10 — 1348 & TM10-1349)”
Nice jeep but that wrong gear shift knob would break the deal for me.
