While Paul Lanquist’s CJ-3A looks pretty accurate, the background doesn’t look like the parts of Bryce Canyon National Park that I’ve seen.

Here’s a standard print by Paul. It can be printed on all kinds of items:

It would be a shame if all that work had the wrong name on it. Bryce is in fact surrounded by that type of topography, some closer to the park than others, but all of it out of the park boundary. This would most likely be Zion Nat’l Park. Like the Jeep though.

I’m wondering about the reflection in the windshield. You can see the driver but not the background.

I’ve seen similar topography in multiple locations throughout Southern Utah. In fact, this looks much more like areas in other NPs in Utah than it does Bryce. Perhaps he was envisioning the area south of Bryce along the Cottonwood creek corridor. The hoodoos are so closely linked with the marketed vision of Bryce that I’m surprised he didn’t employ them. Of course, it’s a very minor issue to me. Just interesting.

At least he did well on the jeep!! After all, who illustrates jeeps together with a National Park?
