“1945 Willys Jeep CJ2A for sale. Hate to lose her but Im moving overseas. She is #10170 which you can research and see as the #170th CJ2A made after WWII. I rebuilt the transmission and the motor is great. Like all CJ2As this old there is a slight drip from the transmission housing. She has been up and running great for the past 2 years, I however have not been in El Paso for the past 6 months so the battery is dead and the fuel pump will need to be primed to get running again. After extensive research, there are a few parts that are not original, windshield is from a 1948, electrical is converted to 12V from 6V and the rear axle was upgraded to the 1948 model. This is an amazing find, and I don’t want to see her go- email or text with questions.”
Nice looking VEC jeep… could be a good deal. But that windshield isn’t 1948… at least not CJ2A. Could be a 1949? And shouldn’t this have been column shift?
Yes, wrong windshield (should have the earliest version with the square bow holder bolt heads) and should be a column shift.
The rear axle should be a full floating model #23-2. Looks like it was swapped out for a model #41 type second series CJ-2a axle.
Agreed. I just couldn’t tell if that had been swapped out or not.
