Bob spotted this high-end ‘jeep’, that is so high end the name ‘jeep’ doesn’t appear anywhere in its description. I think it’s hilarious that the web page includes the ability to add the jeep to a shopping cart of items. Clearly, I am not among Filson’s demographics, because it is a Seattle company that I’ve never heard of.

Only $130,000.00, Lifestyles of the RICH & FAMOUS, Robin Leach where are you?
Filson *WAS* a well-known company making clothes for hunters and guys who worked outside (Like Eddie Bauer and Abercrombie & Fitch). They got their start outfitting miners in the Alaska gold rush. Even a few years ago, before they were sold to the present owner, the photos of the “models” in their catalogs were guys like steelworkers and lumberjacks. Now, the name has been hijacked for ridiculous things like this. They still do make some really nice luggage , and the Seattle-made “Tin Cloth” jackets are nice, but quite expensive.
One could complain all one wants about the rich. Nonetheless, Filson clothing and accessories for the most part are made in the USA. Yes, most of their items are relatively costly, however, as mentioned the Tin Cloth items can last for a hundred years. I have a pair of wool coveralls which I have had for fifteen years and they still look brand new and keep me warm in the snow. Let us endeavor to not put our wealthy brothers and sisters down, but continue our quest to unearth the real reasons some of our cities in our nation look like bombed out Dresden during the end of WWII. Our Senate & Congress have sold us out, just like the corporate leaders. They should be tried for treason, no less. Let us put the blame where it belongs: Senate, Congress, large corporate leaders, the Federal Reserve, and of course, Wall Street. Merry Christmas, Stephen
Yes, I didn’t mean to sound like I’m slamming Filson. I also have lots of their stuff-The Field Jacket, Klondike Jacket, Mackinaw wool overalls, hats, etc-I’ll never wear it out. I suppose that is part of Filson’s problem-A guy buys an item, and then never needs another. They have pretty much given up trying to appeal to working guys,though-Carhartt has that market now. If you don’t know about them, you should check out their website.

The cities up North may look like bombed out Dresden, but it seems to me all those folks are moving here to Charlotte, NC. The traffic over the last 18 months has increased so much we are starting to make Atlanta traffic look good. Every day in Charlotte traffic you can see multiples of license plates from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, lots and lots of New York, New Jersey, and most recently Texas, Florida, and Arizona. And they all drive like they have no idea where they are going. Growth is nice but this is crazy. Oh but I was able to buy gasoline for $2.19 a gallon here today, could that be the reason everyone is moving here?
BUZ, Charlotte HUH, How about that. I have my roots in NJ, now in Concord, NC. I haven’t seen many Willys Jeep guys down here, Nascar & big buck customs seem to rule the road. Where are you from originally? I haven’t seen $2.19 gas yet, I guess you are nearer to South Carolina, lower prices.
