“For sale is a complete Willys L-134 4-Cyl Engine assembly which can be used in either a CJ2A or CJ3A. I was going to use this engine in my CJ3A project but I acquired another vehicle with all numbers matching that I’m working on instead.

The block and head do not have any cracks and the engine currently turns over freely however the cylinder walls are pitted so the block will have to go out for machining. There is a rebuild tag on the block which indicates the cylinders to be .020″, rod bearings to be .010″ and the main bearings to be .010″. According to the rebuild tag it was rebuilt in 1954 in Japan by the military, but I can’t confirm it’s a military engine. The block serial number is J268503 which would seem to indicate it’s possibly a late CJ2A engine. With all of this in mind, here is a breakdown of all the parts that come included with the engine assembly and their relative worth:

W-O Carburetor (Rebuilt): $300 (this is an original, not the Solex replacement)
6v CJ3A Starter (Rebuilt): $250
6v Generator (Rebuilt) $275
Distributor (New): $135
Intake Manifold (New): $120
Exhaust Manifold (New): $180
Fuel Pump (New): $60
Fan (New): $60
Oil Filter Housing & Bracket (New): $110
Oil Lines (New): $35

So there is $1525 in parts on the engine not including the value of the actual long block assembly itself. The engine currently has the CJ2A front mounting plate, but I will also include a CJ3A mounting plate.”

Still available? My son and I have a 46 willy project and found our engine has Zero Compression. Looking for options and found this. I’m in NC so a road trip would be difficult, if your willing to work with me to ship I’m very interested. I don’t check the email listed above that often.

I’m the seller, and yes it just sold on 2/4.

Interesting that it had been there for almost a month and now there was a sudden flurry of interest.

Wish I knew that secret, would make selling parts I no longer need a lot easier.

    Doug,

I think I relisted that a couple times (if I remember correctly). I don’t know why demand suddenly spiked. I have yet to find a secret for selling parts, except be persistent and cast a wide net.
