Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
There are plenty of interesting, unusual, historic and surprising stories related to Jeeps and their owners. In addition, some of these features have nothing to do with jeeps. This link will display all featured stories starting from the latest.
Looking for parts and not sure where to go? There are a variety of large and small new and used parts sellers both online and offline.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“PER CENT”, that kind of caught my eye. I have always seen it used as one word ‘percent’. Thought it might of been a typo, then I see they used it the same in the body of the story. Maybe it was used that way in the past or the writer just used it that way.
Brett
I wonder who was the TV-Movie Star that learned to drive a jeep?
Brett, same here. I’ve never used ‘per cent’, but apparently that’s an acceptable spelling: http://grammarist.com/spelling/percent-per-cent/
Steve, I can’t tell who it was either.
Movie/TV star…
Got it…
I’m pretty good at reading without my glasses, so I can often pull words out of low resolution text.
Looked like “Miss Thel…” to me.
How many women’s names start with those letters? Had to be “Miss Thelma”.
Searched on “Movie TV Star Miss Thelma”
Found a reference to Thelma Ritter.
Went for the long shot:
Used Google to search on: “Thelma Ritter 1955 learns to drive jeep”
Bingo
Follow the link Google returns to the Foresthillsclub dot org PDFs Thelma_Ritter_Article dot pdf
In the second column, about three quarters of the way down is the “learning to drive a jeep” reference.
The movie? More searching using her name and 1956, the likely date that the movie would be released.
“The Proud and the Profane”
Searched on the movie name. The entire movie is posted on youtube.
At 23:05… is that Thelma in a Jeep? (Yeah, I know: “JoeB, Get a Life!”)
JoeB
Great work Joe! I like the blow-by-blow reporting, too 🙂
