UPDATE: Price dropped to $10,500.
“Fully restored Jeep Willys. Engine and 3speed trans as well as frame are original and in great shape.
The body was redone from the floor up in stainless steel in the Philippines. New safety and registration good till March 2015. This is a collectors Jeep. Not very fast but very strong built for off road. Fun to drive to car shows. It turns heads every where I go. Must sell.”
This is an awesome jeep and probably worth that price… especially in Hawaii (considering supply and demand, plus this one’s rust resistance in that tropical salt evironment).
But I’ve never heard of a “1951 Willys fully restored go for as much as $40k or more.”
Anyone else? What’s the flat fender record?
I have heard of a GPW go for more than $36k…
Well, there are restored jeeps, customized jeeps, and famous jeeps. Those three would fetch the most.
Famous: The sale of Roy Rogers Nelly Belle was $116,500 plus buyers fees.
Restored: I don’t know what the highest restored flattie fetched, but I imagine it was a prototype. The GPWs and MBs that are unrestored, but in excellent shape, might fetch some post $30k prices as well.
Restored CJ: I can’t imagine many have gone for more than $35,000. A restored FC-150 went for something in that range out of Scottsdale purchased by Tim Allen. As for CJ-3As, I can’t remember seeing any over the $20k mark.
Customized: several CJ-3Bs beautifully customized have fetched $40k prices built by Brian Leetch. He does some great work. He’s got one for sale now (http://www.ewillys.com/2014/11/02/1953-cj-3b-camas-wa-ebay/) and built this one a few years ago: http://cj3b.info/Finds/FindsStainless.html
It’s a Delorean willys. Cool!
