There have been a few mods, including some usual changes involving the tail lights. It appears the tailgate has been filled in?

That’s the old popular ’66 Mustang tail light mod…a lot of guys in the 70s had them on fiberglass bodies.
Really? I’ve seen the mustang lights on jeeps, but not the metal(?) border around the lights.
Now that you say it, I wonder if that is a fiberglass body. I mean, it’s missing the fuel inlet and the step appears to angle all the way backwards to the body instead of having a notch. I thought it was rusty, but maybe that’s just bad paint. That would also explain the solid back.
Fiberglass CJ-3B bodies are very rare.
That is pretty funky with the bands around the lights. Hard to say if it’s glass or not. Looks like rust to me but I could be wrong.
