“Willys Jeep CJ-2A 1948 Restored Runs,drives, and rides great, New paint inside and out. Front disk breaks, Has locker in front in for better traction in 4WD, Lots and Lots of new parts. Needs nothing. No rust, has lock out hubs, Great condition. Head turner. Has all orig. drive train and body. $6800.”
I see a lot of dents under that shiny paint job. I never understand why a Willys owner will spent a lot of time & money restoring a Jeep, then skimp on painting over the chrome headlight bezels. (rims) When I bought my 48 CJ2A back in 1975, (you read that right) that was the first thing I did. Penny wise & pound foolish, just detracts from the vehicle’s appearance.
I don’t think it is skimp so much as preference. I always kind of liked the chrome bezel’s. I guess deep down I like shiny bling!?! 🙂
The skimping would be painting over dents… unless only done to protect the body until you get around to the body work. Painting over bezels is a preference, like Dave suggested. I do not like them chrome… not for an off road jeep, so I’d have painted over them. Sorry, Mike.
