UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This is up for sale again on eBay. Regarding the “1953 Willys MB Jeep F-head” statement, the seller included that to attract hits rather than for accuracy (we had this discussion back in 2014).
For all you zombie haters, here’s a zombie hunting jeep.
“Up for auction, fresh out of the hills of Crossville, Tennessee, the Zombie Hunter! I have been in the paint and body work field for over 28 years, I have restored several Willys Jeeps (CJ2A, MB’s, etc) but I decided this time around to do a custom Willys Rat Rod!
The Zombie Hunter started out as an original 1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep (VIN #36664) then custom made by me, Mad Mike, out of Crossville, TN. Frame has been stretched to 13 feet and sits on a pair of 1954 Willys Jeep truck axles with 4.88 gears dressed with (4) brand new Military tires. The original Military “Jerry” gas can is the actual gas tank that feeds the all original freshly rebuilt 1953 Willys MB Jeep F-Head motor with custom exhaust which connects to an all original 1946 3 speed transmission with custom M1-Garrand knife shifter and real hand grenades shifters for hi/lo 4 wheel drive on the Spicer transfer case. Yes, the 4 wheel drive works perfectly.
Sitting behind the original all metal 1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep seats sits an all custom made out of wood, exact replica of a .50 cal M1 Browning machine gun, (hey eBay, the gun is fake!!), with original .50 cal ammo can and loader. The “tail gunner” sits in an original early 1900’s all American metal tractor seat. Electrical has been converted to 12volt. All lights work and all brand new gauges. Brake lights are custom made using pickle and relish jars. Working custom front suspsension with a “hard tail” rearend. 100% street legal and registered in the state of Tennessee. Speeds of 55 mph can be reached with a tail wind and going down hill. But put her in 4 wheel drive and you can pull a house if needed.
I have owned this vehicle since conception, it has been a blast to drive. Every car show that she has been in has been a blast, award winning and kids love to sit in the tailgunner seat and grab that .50 cal in their hands… all eyes are on the Zombie Hunter at every show. I am sure I’ve missed something about this one of a kind 1946 Willys CJ2A Rat Rod Zombie Hunter, so feel free to contact me with any questions.”
Well… it’s still 4wd. 🙂
It looks like a 1947 2a to me not a 46.
It’s definitely a 1946… I built it myself…. I cut the tub and the windshield down so I’m not sure how or why you think it’s a 47…?
The original VIN is dead accurate. I still have the old pictures of when i built it online… http://centralsource.com/zombiehunter/making.html
Mad Mike
I’m with Mike on this one Bob. Did you need more coffee before looking at it 🙂
I was just joking guys. It doesn’t hardly look like a Jeep let alone a 46 or 47. But it looks cool and I do see the Willy’s grill.
Mike I just sent you a email on the Zombie Hunter.
