Alex just completed a rebuild and modification of this Ebro Diesel. It’s now his daily driver. He added a couple features to allow his daughter (pictured here) to carry her surf boards.

Nice Jeep. I’ve always wanted to put a diesel in one, even bought a couple to do it with (Mercedes) but can’t seem to find the time. I was a mileage junky back in the ’70’s when I had my first Jeep. I did a Ford 200 six transplant (with a Warn O.D.) in my “47 CJ2A that could get 24 mpg on a blue highways trip at 55-60 mph.
But 34 mpg, wow!
Nice jeep. I once had a new Ford Ranger (’86) with a Mitsubishi TD 2.1L – it got a true 40MPG.
Nice one.
NICE JEEP, BUT WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE OF WHATS BEHIND THE WHEEL.
Makes me feel good to see ,youth driving are old jeeps . My sons love my FC 170 & the smile I get when there behind the wheel ,always makes me feel good .
Wayne, you have the same reaction as I do- young folks in old Willys Jeeps make me smile like a lunatic.
Anyone know what kind of tires he has on the front? I would like to put those on mine.
Larry, I’ll ask him.
Alex reports they are “SUMO 7.50 X 16, ST88, Nylon 8PR. They were on the Jeep wreck, so they must be at least 20 years old, maybe more than 30. Whatever, they are tough”
