I can’t say I’ve ever seen “Cottonpicken Chickenpickers“. It’s a 1967 movie that features a CJ-3B in at least one scene.
“Cottonpicken Chickenpickers ’67 MAX SLAPSIE MAXIE ROSENBLOOM ARMY JEEP
This vintage original still shows a VERY RARE photo of (from left to right) MAX SLAPSY MAXIE ROSENBLOOM in an ARMY JEEP, DEL REEVES and HUGH X LEWIS.
Moviephoto from the movie: Cottonpicken Chickenpickers
Year of the photo: 1967
Size of the photo: Approximately 8 x 10”
Interesting …
I was watching an old Gene Autry movie yesterday and it also had a CJ3B in it…
I was about to get critical, as the old CJ that was often seen in the Roy Rogers series had a column shift (again if I remember correctly) then remembered it was a different show !
Interesting…
So far I haven’t found a source for this 1967 Movie, but if we could capture one it would be a blast at our Maine Region AACA Drive- In. All the reviews say it was not a spectacular movie, but we aren’t looking for quality, just old Jeeps (AND Amphicars too) in action. I’ll keep trying.
It’s interesting that the play on words is that old, “US Male.” I call my Jeep a female because she never delivered mail.
LOL Robert! It funny how a logical males mind is so critical of movies that flaws in the story don’t let us move on with the rest of the show. Maybe that’s the reason I don’t like many movies. “Hey, why is there a contrail from a jet plane above the Indians on the warpath?” (Or powerlines. LOL) Or, “why is there an M38A-1 Jeep in that WWII movie?”
Glenn, are you into Amphicars? I rode in one when I was very young in the late ’60’s. I haven’t seen one in action since then, only at car shows or in pictures.

Hi Steve and All, Our Maine Region AACA is an active touring group, visiting off beat paths seldom trod by outsiders. One of our members right here in tiny Smithfield has a great Amphicar which frequents our nearby lakes of The Belgrade Chain, home to The North Pond Hermit. The Amphicar Forum also had a link to this movie.

I tried the links, and half of them failed to load, so I couldn’t find the movie. It’s interesting to hear that someone who has the Willys bug also has the Amphicar bug. It’s amazing to me the things we do to complicate our lives. (lol) …or at least to make our lives more interesting.
