You probably noticed the website was down for a while. I would like to blame aliens or the government or anybody else for the problem. Even as I type this, which I am doing on my phone, I can still not view the site on my computer. The cause of the problem is partly self-inflicted. It was misunderstanding between me and my former web host. I’m sure by Friday this will all be taken care of.

Site is back up, thursday evening, Thanks Dave for all your efforts on this site.
Welcome back.
Glad your back !!!!
We live in an imperfect world.
Stuff happens.
As an old coworker used to say when things like this happened, “Oh well”.
Thanks, Dave.
Yep,
Mine was back up yesterday afternoon when I checked in !!
DO NOT SCARE US like that again !! lol π
Glad you’re back. Sunny NorCal wouldn’t be so sunny without EWillys in the morning.
Dave-
Glad you are back on line before all of us went into eWillys withdrawal! You do a lot for all of us and we all appreciate it more than you know!
Thanks,
Colin
Yesterday I woke up to a text from Costa Rica informing me that the site wasn’t working (thanks Gustavo!). That was followed quickly by a call from Jim in Minnesota (current webhost) informing me that the problem seemed to be DNS related (which means the site was never down, but simply disconnected from the ewillys domain name). Once I fixed that problem, it was just a waiting game, albeit it a frustrating one, for the DNS to re-propagate around the world. So, it truly was a world-wide effort to fix the problem!
On the good side, I had lots of free time to work on the story for the next book last night.
Good to have you back!
Yea!!! You’re baaack!!! Thought the satellite had fallen out of orbit. Good south of the Grand Canyon again.
Thanks Dave for giving us addicts our daily doses of Jeeps, withdraw is no fun. Thanks for all you do.
Now the withdrawal symptoms have stopped.
fyi…as of 9:30 eastern time this morning, sat 12/7, still no updates in vermont…quitting my other habits was easier than this…
10 am new yorks Hudson valley 12/07/2013- no updates-we know you deserve a break, Dave. Take a deep breath and relax.
Well that’s weird. I scheduled a bunch last night for this morning. Are they appearing now?
I just checked and you should have seen updates at 7am EST this morning. If you hold down the CTRL button and press the letter R on the keyboard it should force a browser refresh. Does that help?
My dad says hes still not getting ewillys. hes getting jittery. snowed in and no ewillys! i told him to go drive a jeep and hed feel better.
Hugh: does he use a PC?
Here’s a simple trick that has worked for some folks:
Google “eWillys” and click on the resulting link. That seems to help trigger the necessary DNS correction.
This morning I checked and no updates could be seen. Now they are all there. Both times was on the iPhone. In any case, I’m glad you’re back! Thanks for all that you do to keep the site running.
Yea he has a pc. ill have him try try that if i can get a hold of him. hes out playin in the snow. 75 year old kid.
just goes to show what a great site you have when so many folks look forward to it each day! thanks again and good luck getting things fixed.
ewillys is back, all is well in vt…thanks
Hi, I do think this is an excellent blog. I stumbledupon it π I am going
to come back yet again since i have book marked it. Money and freedom
is the greatest way to change, may you be rich and continue to guide others.
Come on, I have enough addictions. I can’t be visiting Home Furnishings in India 10 times a day too.
spam comments … grrr … Last month 98,000 spam comments were attempts. Only a handful got through. Don’t worry John, I’ve deleted that bit of spam to help contain your addictions π
Hi Dave, I didn’t intend to make my comment sound as if I was scolding you for spam.
I thought it was ridiculous for someone to think the they could just take your web page development or template and achieve your success without your personality.
John, I didn’t take it that way at all. Your comment made me laugh. I just wanted to share some behind-the-curtains operations. The dramatic increase in spam fascinates me.
