This weighs about 250lbs. In August a bumper was listed that got a bid as high as $400. This one begins at $150. One day left.
“JEEP WEIGHT, FITS CJ’S OF THE 1947 ERA AS IT CAME OFF A 1947. WILL FIT ANY OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME DIMENSIONS IN BETWEEN THE GRILL AND BUMPER , AND BETWEEN THE FRAME RAILS AS THAT IS WHERE IT BOLTS TO. WEIGHT IS TO PROVIDE EXTRA TRACTION, IT MUST WEIGH ABOUT 200#/250# THAT IS A GUESS, BUT IS VERY HEAVY. THE HOLES YOU SEE IN THE TOP ARE HANDLES TO PICK IT UP AND PLACE IT IN POSITION TO BOLT TO FRAME. THIS IS A PICKUP ONLY! IT HAS BEEN STORED INSIDE, AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. SOLD AS IS BECAUSE OF AGE. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK THEM!”
These weigh 265 pounds. This one is for a cj2a as indicated by the angle on the front of it to fit between the gussets for the bumper mounts. They did make them straight for the 3a/3b/5 but there are many more out there for the 2a. $400 is an outrageous price for one. I paid $80 for mine, but the going rate is usually $200 or so.
Does anyone know the Willys Part Number? I have one of these with my CJ3A Farm Jeep. I also have another version of this same weight used on the FC150 to mount over the rear axle to keep it from standing on its nose. Can’t find the Willys Part Number for that one either. Mighty expensive to ship.
Glenn-
The Willys part number for the kit is: 640724, kit consists of the weight, 4 3/8 x24 x 3 inch bolts, nuts and lockwashers. The weight itself is #640729. Got this off the 45-49 Willys Master parts list, Group 35-13.
Thanks to Colin. Had it right in front of me in my Master Master Parts List, just too numb to find it. I have the November 1959 FC150 Parts List also but so far haven’t found the rear weight.
