Omix-Ada’s President, Al Azadi, has a jeep collection that totals at least 20 jeeps, including some prototypes (see six of his jeeps below). At the November 5-7 2013 Sema Show in Las Vegas, he’ll be showing off a portion of their collection.

You can see more about the collection @ http://www.jeepcollection.com or learn more about the event at http://www.off-road.com/blog/2013/10/22/omix-ada-debuts-historic-jeep-collection-at-2013-sema-show/

I’ve wondered if Omix-Ada and MD Juan (far east) are related companies. I have used parts with brand names Acme (body), Crown (distributor and steering kit), Omix-Ada (carburetor – it is actually a Solex) and misc. body and hardware parts with MD Juan labels. It would be nice to have a record of who manufactures and who distributes

I know I’ll raise a lot of eyebrows when I say this; But big money & big corporations such as Omix-Ada seem to have taken over what used to be an affordable hobby. This is another American company that sends it’s manufacturing overseas to save labor costs at the expense of the American worker & consumer. We all have seen the ads for large stocks of genuine Willys Jeep parts for sale on different sites; the truth of the matter is that long time Willys Parts Dealers (made in the U.S.A) can’t compete with a giant like Omix-Ada. Next time you need a part for your Willys, give this subject some thought; the job you save may be your own.

While Rugged Ridge is an Omix Ada brand; it is their “aftermarket/modified” part line as opposed to their stock replacement part line. Crown is an independent American owned company based out of Massachusetts and not affiliated with Omix Ada. Just to set the record straight.

This is just the conversation I wanted to see – I see parts made, I assume, in small shops in the US sold by John at Midwest Military and Peter Debella – I have purchased from both these guys with that last restore (the M38). As I said it would be nice to have a record of who manufactures and who distributes and yes of course, who are the small manufacturers in the US that make the hard to find parts. I am just starting a CJ2A (1947) and although it is intended as a daily driver and I am going to keep the body as untouched as I can, the running gear I want in as original new condition as I can. A frame off job with a body left with it’s character – I even have a well worn Porter and Reed top.
