I like the name “Mud Whistle”.
“This is a WW2 MB Willys slat grill jeep. My brother and I bought this in 2008 and have diligently researched and restored it to be an incredibly accurate WW2 British Airborne jeeps. Specifically it is equipped and dressed as a support jeep for the 1st Airborne Reconnaissance Squadron.
It is difficult to recall what all we have done to properly dress this jeep but I will give it a shot.
Battery Boxes and racks attached to each wing (fender)
marker lights moved to the wings
Spare tire moved to custom built mount on front grill
Tire support made and mounted between bumper supports
Front bumper replaced with shortened and reenforced airborne bumper
bumper fitted with custom pick carrier and pick!
bumper fitted with towing connector
ammo rack made and fitted to bonnet
rifle clips made and attached to wind screen (wind shield)
clips for sten made and fitted to cowel
Bren or rifle clips fitted to right step and fender
gerry can holders and special mods fitted to floor
steering wheel made removable to fit under the strut of Horsa glider. This is a complex and special mod to the Scheller steering wheel
horn button relocated to steering column using special custom bracket
tow bar custom made and attached to rear
Includes original NOS British bridging plate with either “6” as was common in 1Recce or “3/2″ your choice!
Original British trailer plug is installed
Original British convoy light and switch installed- rear dif painted white to refect light.
ALL MODS made and installed per original instructions and made from original plans

5 brand new military tires from Coker
5 brand new repro combat rims
brand new rebuilt starter
Currently has XL driver seat installed. If buyer choices we can swap and original MB drivers seat.
