UPDATE: The seller indicates this is a 1950, but as Bob and Bill point out, it was manufactured in 1949.
This looks nice.
“Up for auction is a 1950 Willys Jeepster. The car runs and drives perfectly, and is an excellent car show candidate or cruiser. The Willys had an older restoration, and has no rust. Equipped with the more desirable 6 cylinder engine and the 3 speed manual transmission, the Jeepster is a turn-key car you could get in and drive anywhere. The previous owner had the car since 1976 and regularly drove it around town. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 302-540-1990. Thanks for bidding!”
Looks more like a 49 with the flatter front end
1949 is correct… apparently his title states 1952, he just thinks it’s a 1950. The vin is VJ3-6xxxxx, so it’s definitely a 49. Some friends of mine were looking at it….
This may have been one of the very last 49 Jeepsters built in 49 and sold as a 1950, which is what happened from Nov. 49 through March, 1950 before the new pointed front end styling came out. The serial number is actually outside the numbers given for 1949 6 cylinder production, but I have found that to be the case in other Jeepsters as well. Not a bad looking car, just needs to be finished correctly.
