UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $12,000.
“Very nice late war production (June 1945) 1/4 ton Ford jeep. All major components on jeep are original. The frame, engine block, and data plate on glove box all have matching numbers (271418), and because this is a late war composite jeep, the tub is a ACM Type 2 and has serial number 246701.
Jeep has undergone a complete ground up restoration to include; engine completely rebuilt (cylinders oversized .40), transmission rebuilt, transfer case rebuilt, brake system rebuilt, steering system rebuilt, new wiring harness, and both differentials rebuilt. In addition, the floor of the tub was replaced. I have receipts for all the work that was done, including the many new or NOS parts that were purchased for the restoration. I would classify this jeep a motor pool class restoration, not a factory class.
When I purchased this jeep in California (from only the 2nd civilian owner since 1945), it still contained most of the original parts from its original production; F script engine block, F script head manifold, 5 original combat rims (split rims) wheels, starting hand crank, and rifle holder. The jeep also included many F script marked parts such as the grab handles, tool box covers, foot rests, and many, many F script bolts throughout the vehicle. Even the original lube guide pocket is still under the hood. You don’t often find original WW2 jeeps with this many original parts, especially a Ford GPW.
I will also include the following tools and accessories for the jeep: original F script starting hand crank, original brass fire extinguisher (with repro mounting bracket), reproduction tire jack, original WW2 grease gun (with repro mounting bracket), original WW2 oil can (with repro mounting bracket), original WW2 shovel and axe (with original mounting brackets), original WW2 gas can (with original mounting bracket), reproduction skid plate, and a reproduction bumper tow rope. I also have a nice set (three plates) of new professionally made data plates for the glove box.”
would like to see more photos of engine and other areas of jeep
