side-by-side = a glorified 4 wheeler (atv) with seats side by side.
Kawasaki mule, arctic cat prowler, yamaha rhino and the like. i have a kawasaki mule and my cj2as are one inch narrower and with the windshield folded down can easily negotiate any trail a side by side can. in fact the cj2s can flat out outclimb any of the side by sides on a steep muddy hill.
