UPDATE IV: Here’s another Knox, this time owned by Clint. It appears to have a few mods:
UPDATE III: While searching for any info on Knox trailers, Brandon ran across this post. So, he sent in some pics of his Knox trailer. He recently sold it.

UPDATE II (From July 13, 2021) : Here’s another example of a Knox trailer that Jared recently purchased:
========================
UPDATE: Scott recently refurbed his Knox, making it capable and durable for modern activities. He’s had a hard time finding information on these trailers. Does anyone know more about them? Here are a couple pics of his trailer:
==============================
Here are two Knox trailers that were listed on eBay back in 2013:
1) This Knox trailer was on eBay and has a serial number of 15.
“This is soooo rare there is barely ANYTHING on Google except this listing now..
From what I can gather from old guys in the military vehicle circles, these were made by Knox company who also made utility bodies and truck tool boxes. These were optional equipment for international trucks and some Jeeps. Serial #15, Rated at 1500 pounds”
2) This one is from the Inland Empire in California and was priced at $800
“Rare! It is an Old School Truck frame and 4’x6′ bed, converted into a trailer. Wood bed floor needs work but Im using ply wood right now. Hi clearance, very heavy duty used for Hualing Quad, offroading and camping. Comes with a Metal storage box on front. It has a Heavy Duty Dexter 6000lb mobile home axle with 3” tube, big spindles, narrowed to fit frame. It still has electric brake backing plates but not complete, You can buy the e-brake Hub/drum kit to fit backplates in future? Use it for parts to restore your Old truck or Rat Rod or As a Wagon for your Willys / Jeep or Offroad Truck. I would like to sell $800 or trade/Barter for A Low milage Jeep/Dodge 4.0L-4.6 Stroker or 5.9 v8.
i have one also
it was my granddaddy trailer
crossett arkansas
I have a Knox utility trailer like the ones mentioned here. I have owned it since 1975
and have taken good care of it as it is in very good condition. I no longer have use for it and would consider selling. Please respond if interested.
Hi Raleigh, I’ll schedule a post about that tomorrow morning.

I just got one that says knox on the front and the back. Same body as the one pictured basically all stock except The springs and perches have been changed to wrangler springs and perches. but it still Orig axle wheels etc
I like it this way. As its more useable.
I have a Knox trailer I bought in 1975 have just started to not restore it because it has always been a good trailer but to make it prettier. I would like more info and history on Knox Stan Daniel
I own a 1949 Knox trailer very heavy duty have put a lot more than a one ton load in it Nothing Stops it keeps on rolling down the road
I have a Knox trailer, paid 50 bucks for it, no tital, now it’s home made, wht is 500 lbs, I use it all the time. I’ve bought it about 25 years ago.at a place called the white house flea market, in Schenectady NY, I like it and have no reason to sell it, camping trip and traveling. I never knew that there are more out there.
John, that’s great! My parents used their trailer until it rusted through. It was never pretty, but did it’s job. It saved them from having to own a truck for years.
I came across one of these and I just restored it. This is the only post I have seen anywhere on these trailers. If anyone knows the history of them let me know. Thanks!
Tried to post a pic, not sure it worked.
Hi Scott,
I haven’t run across any more info on the Knox trailers, but will let you know if I do. Your trailer looks great!

Thanks David, I can find very little info on the company other than they made some truck beds for International Harvester in the 40’s. They have to be super rare, had no idea when I bought it.
Scott,
YW .. Do you mind if I add your pic to the post?
Please do
I have a couple of other things I am doing to the trailer and I can send you an updated pic when I am done next week…

Just came back to this thread after the last post and caught up. Any of you that restore one know this, they are more valuable than you think. I have been offered $5000 twice for mine as it sits now. I am not selling it, just letting you know.
wow scott thats crazy!! i got mine for $400 at an estate sale.. is yours the refurbished one seen at the top of the page? I cant wait to tinker around with mine when i get it home (got to change the flat tire)
Yes mine is the one at the top.
I bought one of these used about 7 years ago and gave it to my brother who turned it into an off-road camping trailer with a roof top tent on a rack. Very heavy duty and durable.
I just started doing some research on mine. It was my grandpa’s and I’ve been thinking about parting ways with it recently. I hate to see it just rot away outside.
I have a green one in my horse pasture. I used it a couple times to haul hay and got laughed at by my feed dealer. lol I should upload a photo.
Hi Sue,
Thanks for the note. Feel free to email one or more pics to d@deilers.com and I will add it to the post.
Thanks,
– Dave

Does anybody have a military or Knox jeep trailer in decent shape that you would part with for $500.00 and be willing to ship? I’m in Michigan and not finding nothing close to home so far. If it’s feasible, and I have no idea of cost, but I would be willing to pay for shipping. May find out it’s as much as a car but I hope not. Thanks for your consideration.
David, I just sold mine. And I’m in Michigan. Bummer!
I have the 7 foot version with the wood floor and Knox stamped on the tailgate only. I’ve owned it for 10 plus years and love it . I recently got a vintage aluminum camper shell for it but it unfortunately is for the 6 foot bed. How do I post pics ?
Hi Nathan,
If you email the pics to me, I’ll post them for you. You can send them to d@deilers.com.
Thanks,
– Dave

Scott Bales, my Knox Box trailer is still for sale.. It’s the serial #15 shown above.. I’m in Charlotte NC .. I’d love to get $5000 for it. Been trying to sell it for years but no one knows about these trailers. Perhaps the market is finally catching up? If you’ll forward me the info on the possible buyers, I’ll be happy to give you a 5% commision. That goes for anyone else who can help out here as well..
Plesae copy and paste this link for a current listing as of today:

Mike, if I get anyone I will send them your way. I think the reason I have been offered that much for mine is the conversion I did on it. The Jeep aftermarket trailers are insanely high. Once they find out mine is a 1945 model at Jeep shows they start offering to buy it. Will keep an eye out for you…
I have a 1946. I have converted it to an Overland trailer. Looks like his but Tan.
1949 Knox trailer here. Looks barely used
Hi Loren,
Do you have any pics? Feel free to email them to me at d@deilers.com. We don’t have many good examples of an original one.
Thanks,

I’m looking for another Knox trailer close to georgia. Anyone know of any?
Hello everyone , I am looking for a Knox Box Trailer or even just the complete box with the tailgate. I have seen them for sale over the years and just didn’t have the funds to buy one. I was born in 1975 and my last name is Knox. I saw someone on here stating he bought one and has owned it since 1975 and would be willing to sell it as he no longer has any use for it. Anyone with one for sale or info on one would be greatly appreciated. I’m also looking to buy an old Ford or International truck from the 1930’s to the 1940’s. Would consider other manufacturers of the same era’s. Thank you ,
Shawn Knox
