UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7995
“1945 Willys CJ2A. First civilian modle after the war. The body and chassis are OEM. On the body the front fenders are cut to allow for steering and the rear wheel wells tubs are shortened to allow leg room. The body is channeled 5″. The windshield is stock on the bottom and about a foot removed from the top, the pivot glass works, and it’s plastic not glass.
The chassis is lengthened 18″ and a 75 pinto front suspension attached. The cross member is the original cut out of the donor car and welded in and all the rest is stock pinto.
The engine is a Ford 302, I think out of a 78 T-bird, unknown actual miles (I bought it used out of a 27 T sedan), Trans is a C4 with a shift kit. The rear axle is a Ford 9″ from a 62 Galaxy.(it needs a posi to do good burnouts) It does have a burnout valve under the dash.
Steering column is a 63 Pontiac tilt. The brake pedal & master, shifter, parking brake are from the donor car. After market cruise control.
I’ve put 4300 miles on it and have fixed a few things as they showed up, mostly beefing thing up.
It weighs in at 2000 pounds, the engine is stock with dual fours (mostly for looks) home made zoomie headers and it runs very well. I’ve had it to 110 and ran out of cahonies not power. It also has a more conventional exhaust system if it should get ticketed, see pix.
There’s a lot of other small things about the car, to much to cover it all here. If you have questions please ask. If you want to see something specific I’ll send pix of what ever you want. I have pix of most all steps in the build.
This is a Traditional Hot Rod, aka: Rat Rod, no body work, no bondo, rust holes, chipped paint (what there is) and it’s all in flat black
600 miles is the longest road trip I’ve made, it gets about 16 mpg and no issues. Cruise control helps.”
I sure hope someone did not cut up a real 1945 for this!
