Dave, I think that giant fan in the back could have been an experimental overdrive. They just found another use for it.
I had two thoughts that came to mind immediately, first how do you think that burning method would fly today and second I could see a retired couple sitting on their porch in the early morning with a cup of coffee commenting on the beautiful orange glow the sun seemed to give off that morning at sunrise!
I want to know how fast the jeep would go if you released the parking brake!!
This fan was designed by the same people how designed those cool little fire truck jeeps. The more fans they sold, the more fire truck sales they would generate :o)
You really have to give the Willys marketing guys credit. It seems they tried every conceivable application to try and sell more jeeps…it’s a shame more of these crazy accessories didn’t survive. They were definitely thinking outside of the box when they came up with this one…
