Engine is out. This seller includes an engine from an old welder that runs. It may have low miles.
“1958 Jeep FC150 Forward Control project truck. 4 wheel drive Classic. This is a small limited production Jeep with a lot of character. Need to sell because my kids soccer now takes all my project time. Engine is out but I have one for it that you can hear run, it is the same motor that came with the FC150, an f134 hurricane currently mounted on a welding trailer, fairly low hours. Everything else is there. Tires hold air. Needs restoration but is a solid truck, the glass is all intact. No title. Call Joe at 320 Seven 6 one, 17 four five if interested.”
I hope the seller doesn’t expect the buyer to put that L4 in the FC-150. That would be a 12% loss of horsepower over an original F4-134. The original engine has just enough power for an FC-150 with the factory gear ratio, just not effective on the Interstate. I would install an F-head, but I would never put a flathead 4 in an FC-150. A V-6 would be the best re-power. A Ford Ranger/Pinto 4 cyl would also be a good fit.
