Seller’s Description
Selling a complete 1961 Willy’s pickup frame and drive train only. It comes with the super hurricane 6 cylinder engine. Some one before me rebuilt the engine I was told. The engine turns over and comes with a new electronic distributor. I do not know anything else about it. It has new tires on it but they are older but not weather checked.
I would think this is a good price, one thing I just noticed the difference between a truck and wagon frame. (Chassis) back in the 1960’s when I bought my first wagon, 2 wheel drive for $50.00, I was converting it to 4 wheel drive buying the the needed parts at John Van Dines Jeep junkyard in Paramus NJ. I wanted to just drop my wagon body on a pickup frame he had, he told me the frames were different. This post reminded me of that time long ago. It was on a Good Friday, just before Easter, I had just gotten a haircut, and Mr. Van Dine was pleased, because he had always thought of me as a Hippie. I have a black & white picture of that wagon, (first in a series of five) along with a interesting story about it.
