Anyone know what used a side-shift T-84F transmission?
Glenn’s got one, but it’s set up for 2WD. So far, suggestions are that it was used in Studebakers and/or Willys cars. A side-shifting T-84F capable of using a transfercase was the transmission used in Willys MAs.
We did unearth a couple of links for further information: https://www.oldwillysforum.com/forum/index.php?threads/willys-transmission.9570/

Here’s a pic of Glenn’s transmission:
I came up with from here: http://willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=11135
T-84F-1
Studebaker ‘39-40 Champion (over drive)
I found this PDF about T-84-J
The Mystery continues. After cleaning the case, info in casting is: T84F – 1D, WG DIV (Warner Gear Div), Date Code is 10 – 27. There is also a stamped F 2 under the WG DIV. The “F” is not for sure and might be ” # ” or something else. I don’t understand the date code 10-27 as I don’t know of any “Three on the Tree” from 1927. For a top shifter, maybe like used in a Whippet, there would not be a side shift casting. I can’t find any more numbers. Anyone got codes from a Willys Americar? Most companies had side shifters just prior to WWII.
I’ve seen a transm case like yours a few years ago.
T84F-ID
WG DIV
F2 11-19
The ” F” is more like a T mixed with a F
The Studebaker weasel used a side shirt “2wd” T84.
I know I had the pdf link in there but where did it go? Here it is again.http://www.42fordgpw.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Pages-from-Transmission-How-To_1.pdf

I have a 1941 Nash 600 coup that had a T84 side shift transmission. I still have both the car and the transmission. The car was purchased new by my late father.
