“1960 cj-5. Runs and drives well, but burns oil. Has rust spots due to its age, but not overwhelming. Sad to see it go, but do not have the time to work on it. Asking $6,000 obo. Would be interested in trading for a dual sport bike.”
I’m curious as to the hardware store door handles on each side of the cowl. Appears to be an awkward place if it’s to assist stepping into the vehicle. Ideas?
One possibility. Maybe the handle was used by a passenger to steady themselves on the outside of the Jeep when hanging off the side as a counter balance on an awkward slope?
Or, used as a tie down spot when carrying stuff on the hood.
Yeah, could be a tie down point. I first thought of the rear anchor points for a cold weather hood blanket.
A grab point for someone to help pull it out of the snow drift like the MB/GPW.
I agree with Dave…A tie down spot for dead deer/elk/moose.
