“Very rare only 25k made. This was the first Jeep Willys MB made for ww2 before Ford made the stamped grill. Built in Ohio a lot of very hard to find original parts. Runs and drives very nice. The ultimate jeep collectible Serial number 110515 D.O.D 1-8-42”
I had to do some research on that air cleaner, I had never seen one like that, looks modified or homemade. It turns out that it is original, called a pancake air filter. There is one on e-bay listed for $500, so they must be fairly rare.
Yes the slat has a lot of small differences from the Willys MB and GPW stamped grill models.

I hadn’t noticed that style of air cleaner either. The WWII jeeps are definitely their own speciality, just like the prototypes are their own specialty.
