“1952 Willy’s Frankenjeep is looking for a new owner. Needs some TLC. Titled as a 1947. Tires good, new battery, master cylinder, fuse panel, and some front end parts. Runs and drives. Just had the oil changed this week. Comes with Princess Seat, electric winch and steel fuel can. 6,000 or best. If posted it is still available.”
My brother’s friend had a jeep CJ5 with a similar huge chunk of wood front bumper. He put it on there when the original was bent in a crash, and didn’t have money to replace it (he was a student at the time). After a while, he decided he liked it better than the original, because he felt other drivers found it “intimidating”.
Bumper looks like a pushbar you’d see on old service station trucks, back when you could push a car without cracking a $1000 plastic non-bumper.
