If you don’t mind some “elbow grease” I think you’re getting value for your money.
As for the ’63: by ’63 Willys was exclusively installing the 230 Tornado, not the 226 flat head. Unless this is an early 1962 leftover titled as a ’63, the included “flat head” engine is the wrong engine.
So the firewall was changed in ’63? Or ’62?
The recess in the firewall came with the Tornado, so it appeared in ’62.
The light blue wagon has a flat firewall, so it’s not a 1963 production vehicle. It’s probably titled as a 1963 because it was initially sold in 1963 as a “leftover”.
Based upon the one piece front glass and the flat firewall, it’s either a 1960-1961 or very early 1962 model. It would originally have come with a 226, which appears to be the engine being provided by the seller.
Craig,
you just answered my next question, My 62 wagon does have the flat firewall. So were there different firewalls in 1962 depending on the engine 226 or 230?
