Chris forwarded this nice looking Commando. It appears to have been built by Jeep Viasa and imported from Spain based on the data plate.

May be more comfortable, but can’t imagine having much power or speed with the F-head 4 cyl. American versions had the V6 or later 232ci inline six. My brother had a ’70 w/the V6 and my dad had a ’72 w/the 232.

Standard motor for the C101 through ’71 was the F4 and the V6 was the optional engine. In 51 years involvement with Jeep, can’t remember the last one I saw with the F4 in a C101. Just not popular .
    72 – 73 Commando offered 3 engines: 232-6, 258-6, and 304-V8.

I had a 72 with the 304. was the best off road back country jeep I ever had. fuel tank wasn’t all that large so had a jerry can bolted on. saved me a few times.
