My Dad started to build a CJ 3A Jeep with all new VW parts and has the rolling chassis with rims and all weather tires and the steel body. He did start to put car together, but due to health issues is unable to complete project. He has about 90 plus percent of the all the parts, including new engine (1600 vs 1200), transmission, breaks, suspension, gas tank, exhaust system, lights, fender, grill, seats, dashboard gauges., windshield (no glass)… plus more.

I am not an expert but my understanding is that beyond assembling/building the car, it will require some fabrication for dash, steering column, and gas, break, gas pedal structure… Items can also be bought as a bulk purchase to sell parts for resale for a profit. Again, they are all new and never used. Everything cost well over $12,000 but he is willing to part with it all as a bulk sale for as little as $5000 for everything.”
