Maury shared this solid looking CJ-5. It has a great old school feel to it.

“Dauntless V6 3 speed. New carb, brake system, wiring, instruments & gas tank. Everything works. 5 Kelsey Hayes wheels. Original white Whitco top has hole in top but frame is good.”
this 1970 jeep has a data plate over the battery — i wonder what it says ? — previous years there was a paint and trim code sticker and a sticker saying WILLYS on it — my 67 cj-6 v-6 has the WILLYS sticker — this sticker was the last reference to WILLYS on jeeps — what year did the WILLYS sticker disappear ?
My Hurricane powered 1966 CJ-5 has a smaller metal serial number tag on the firewall above the heater core. It says “Kaiser Jeep Corporation” with no mention of Willys. I’m missing the paint and trim code sticker from the passenger side firewall, although it’s outline is visible.
WILLYS was dropped from the vehicles with the 64 year models . Can’t speak to a sticker with it on it after that. Vernon, does your Serial number plate in the upper left corner say KAISER JEEP CORPERATION like Tom’s.
I’d like to see a picture of the Willys sticker.
At the top of that data plate it says Kaiser Jeep Corporation. This is a very early 70 model, probably made in late 69. Still has the hood reflectors and gas tank under the seat. But it does have the arched-glass windshield which followed the one year only 69 rectangle glass with the external electric wiper motor . Too bad we can’t see any data plate(s) above the heater core box. And it could be that the data plate was moved to where it is now. It’s also possible this one was built in Canada as many 69s were.
