Not that it’s a big deal, but wasn’t the spare tire mounted on the driver side originally when new?

  2. colin peabody

Most of the FC-170 photos of trucks with the pickup bed show the spare mounted right behind the cab on the passenger side, from 57-64.

    Colin,
Thanks, I wasn’t sure, now I know, always apricate knowledge beyond my own understanding.

  4. Steak Body

a small child would know where the spare tire is mounted on a pickup version fc-170 — THE REAL QUESTION IS , WHERE WAS IT MOUNTED IF YOU GOT THE STAKEBODY VERISON ? — on my regular willys jeep stakebody trucks , it was mounted up under the rear of the flatbed , by the gas tank .

    Stake Body,
Where would the world be without you? Thank you for your arrogant answer. Inquiring minds always apricate “WISE GUYS”.

From the look of that door hinge, the door hasn’t been opened since they painted over it in ’15

Thanks for the update Dave! Much appreciated. I’ve updated the post (I’ve deleted the duplicate comment).

Thanks for the update Dave. It is pricey, but oh so nice! My pepere had a 150 and a 170 in the 60’s and 70’s and the 150 ended up at his house parked with weeds growing through it. We used it like a jungle gym when we were kids.
I want one in this condition so bad!

    Paul,

I believe it is the highest priced stock FC-170 that I have seen.

Sounds like good times, even it the FC had a few weeds 🙂

Lots of issues for the price , Cooling tunnel on this one is not of 61 vintage. Interior paint has not been done on this either. It has been on eBay at least 3 times.
I have one with overdrive instead of winch, that is almost identical.
I would not expect mine to sell for what has been offered so far and I consider it to be superior!
