Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. If you head toward Yellowstone, but it still remains closed (roads got his pretty heavily due to rains/flooding), you might detour to the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois, Wy. This huge collection of military vehicles includes multiple jeeps.

We visited it last year, excellent! The area around Dubois has some great scenery, plus, the view of the Tetons from the top of Togwotee Pass is awesome.
We visited this museum last summer. It was amazing and I would highly recommend. They have tours also where the guide explains the exhibits and some of the history. Several in our group opted to do the guided tour and said it was very good.
