“1947 CJ2A affectionately named Rosie – runs, drives, shifts through everything (transfer case too), stops. All lights and signals work.
Still has original flathead motor, transmission and transfer case – getting harder and harder to find like this these days.
12v, alternator conversion. Newer alternator, brand new battery.
Frame is A+ condition, tub is probably B+. Frame is solid throughout. Tub has very minimal rust (mostly surface where there is any) and a few drilled holes and dings and dents from her previous lives. Lots of patina.
Like-new NDT tires with less than 200 miles on them.
Seats professionally rebuilt and reupholstered with marine-grade material about 2 years ago.
Korean war arctic hard top included with Jeep – see last picture. Not currently mounted. Glass will need replacing.
A CJ2A Windshield frame also included – currently mounted. The Jeep came with the hard top, which has a windshield built into it. In order to remove it I had to source a 2A windshield and scored this original one to go with the Jeep. It’s no show piece, but original beats repro any day in my books. Glass also needs replacing – or you can just drive her with the windshield down!
Rosie has spent most of her life in Arizona and Colorado. She’s begging to stay and play in the desert sun.
Lots of character and history in this Jeep. She ain’t perfect and definitely still has projects left in her. That said, I happily drove her on commute a few miles daily for about a year (with parts and tools on hand of course 🤣). If you’re looking for a trooper that’s still ticking at 75 years old, Rosie is your gal.”
XCUSE ME —————- R THOSE WARN SUMMER HUBS ON THE FRONT OF THIS HEEP ???
Vernon,
I wondered that also, but couldn’t tell for certain.
