A beautifully detailed project, but my experience is that few take the time or the money to reward the effort. With everything else so well planned/coordinated, I wonder what the thinking was behind the hood paint “additions of color” like that? Nicely done for somebody, somewhere.
Pretty sure that’s a W/O tie tack, stuck into that speedo dial.
140!
Very nicely done and well thought out. Hood paint is different, but to each his own!
Stevek,
My thoughts exactly, that splash of color on the hood at first looked out of place, caught my eye. Then as I continued to think about it, although beautifully done in blue and white, maybe just a little bit too plane Jane, considering all the work put into building this Willys. Maybe the owner realized this, and as a last minute decision, jazzed it up with some color. Just a thought to add my commentary based on my own experiences.
Yea Mike, I’m with your logic. I just think the placement, size, and color choice only created “our discussions”, not a sale potential, as “if” a potential buyer doesn’t like it, thinking paint work required to remove, or add to it, there went the sale. Sometimes, a blank canvas works to more than an “abstract personal touch”. It seems to be a high quality build for a special buyer market. That 140 Speedo surely is “KPH”, right? I wonder what his next project mentioned will be?
PS — I JUST BOUGHT A VERY RARE AMERICAN BANTAM TC-3 JEEP TRAILER — REAL LOW SERIAL NUMBER — REAL NICE CONDITION — 1945 — OH YA — IT DONT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS — COMBAT WHEELS STOCK — GREEN — ALL THE EARLY GOODIES — ONLY THE BEST , AND LATER FOR THE REST ( SAID MY OLD FRIEND JOHN LEE HOOKER )
