I wouldn’t call it hacked up. The fire dept had a need that jeep fit the need, if the fire department didnt have a use for it that jeep probably would have been turned into soup cans decades ago. They preserved it. Hopefully it stays this way, it spent more time as a fire truck than as a military ambulance.
Well my 54 M170 came from a Fire Department in Connecticut, and certainly didn’t have a GM steering column… Just sayin’
