THE PHOTO IS CLEAR 1-2 FEET AWAY, THE PHOTO IS CLEAR UNDER MAGNIFY GLASS, BUT DARK. OPEN FACE CARD, BLANK BACK, WITH CAPTION. THESE CARDS WERE MADE MOST LIKELY FROM A DEPARTMENT STORE AND GIVEN TO NEIGHBOR’S, FAMILY & FRIENDS DURING THE HOLIDAYS.

Interesting modifications you pointed out. Note also the grab rails in the back. There are also eyebolts and a trailer ball on the front bumper. Wonder if this was one you could rent at the beach or resort. The front ball would be used to back a boat into the water Looks like a gas or water can on the back also. Looks like a good memory for the family pictured.

Same grab rails as the Walt Disney Jeep, still can’t see the rear of jeep, I assume they fit in the top pockets. I wonder if someone was selling these, they would be simple enough to make with a pipe bender.
These grab rails were present on a variety of jeeps across the US, based on jeeps that have been listed for sale and old pics. I don’t know if they were all custom made or not. I can’t remember them appearing in any catalogs from the 1950s or 1960s. Maybe they were a little known dealer option, a brochure for which we have yet to uncover.
