“I’m selling a 1952 Jeep Willy’s Jeep. Has a manaul transmission and a straight 6 engine. Ran when parked. Key was lost. Selling as is.$3500 firm.”
Hmmmm….. maybe a Studebaker overdrive? (seeing it has a flathead 6 and a tee handle on the dash)
That appears to be a Studebaker Champion 6 cylinder engine, so the possibility that the Studebaker/Borg Warner overdrive unit found its way to the rear of the Jeep transfer case. A lot of Jeeps in the late 50s and early 60s had the Studebaker overdrive mounted with an adaptor so they had overdrive in 2WD only for highway use.
