“This is a 1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep I purchased to get parts that I needed. This was originally a well done upgraded Willys with a Chev V/8 with aftermarket front mount plate….., overdrive upgrade….., GM steering box…….front hub selectors…….and a Stewart Warner 160 mph speedometer !! (speedometer is not included in the sale). There was also a very well built ……almost cabinet maker quality…..wooden full top enclosure that has rotted away, but I have some of the pieces and hardware is someone was skilled and energetic enough to duplicate it.
What I am selling is the Willys rolling chassis as seen in the pictures. It has been converted to a GM steering box as shown in the pictures. The body will need work as the pictures show. The seat frames look OK. At one time someone formed a large “bubble” in the hood maybe to cover a power brake booster ?? The hood has also been raised up with addition of wood to clear the Chev engine air cleaner.
The rear frame rails have been cracked and reinforced and would probably need to be repaired again. I am selling the transfer case with the Willys, but there is NO transmission and I removed the Chevrolet engine and adapter for future projects as well as the overdrive.
The VIN tag is still attached to the left front frame rail. The VIN is 123296 if I am reading it correctly. When I purchased it, it was stated to be a 1947 model year. There is NO TITLE. I have a Bill of Sale from my purchase and I will be selling with a Bill of Sale.”
